MOTORING FATALITY.
DEATH OF MR. A. UPTON.
EVIDENCE AT THE INQUEST. [BY TELEGRAPH —OWN CORRESPONDENT ] NGARUAWAHIA, Monday. At the inquest into the death of Mr. Albert Upton, who was killed in a motorcai accident near Glenmassey, five miles from Ngaruawahia, it was stated that the party of four left Ngaruawahia at 6 p.m. on Saturday. It was raining steadily. The car had climbed the slope through what is known as Mile Bush, and the deceased, who was driving, changed gears on the brow of the hill. Witnesses stated thai, the lights became very dim when a change of gears was made. The wind screen was dull with rain, and the car ran into loose earth- in the darkness, skidded, and rolled over sideways about 30ft. The three others escaped twith sevpro bruises. The medical evidence showed that the deceased was killed instantly. The Glenmassey miners turned out m forco to render assistance. A verdict of accidental death was returned
