FOOTBALL.
THE RUGBY GAME.
GRAFTON WINS CHAMPIONSHIP.
, AN INTERESTING GAME.
The final match to decide the Auckland Senior Club Championship was played at Eden Park on Saturday, between Grammar Old Boys and Grafton. In previous matches during the season Grammar had won two of the contests, and one had been drawn. Despite the threatening weather, there was a large attendance, and the spectators were rewarded with one of the best games of the season. A couple of passing showers fell during the day, but, beyond making the ball a trifle slippery, did not seriously interfere witli the game. The ground was in good condition, and the play throughout was fast and interesting, with both sides throwing the ball about. A feature of the game was the dashing work of the forwards, and the crisp, quick passing of the backs, -he fast Grammar rearguard being only slightly superior to that of Grafton, who gave a fine display. The teams were evenly matched, and there was little to choose between them, but Grafton lasted better, and won at the finish by 13 points to 8 points.
