MARINER'S FATAL FALL.
SLIPS FROM LADDER ON SCOW
HIS SKULL FRACTURED.
j The death occurred at the Auckland \ Hospital at 11.30 o'clock last night of Mr. Edward Boss Campbell, a mariner, who sustained a fracture of the skull as the result of an accident at the Craig Wharf at 5.30 o'clock on Tuesday evening. Mr. Campbell, whose age is given as 80, accidentally fell six feet off a ladder on to the deck of a scow lying at the wharf. He was conscious for about an hour after the accident, but after* being taken on board the vessel lapsed into unconsciousness. Medical assistance was obtained yesterday morning, vith the l result that the injured man was ordered to hospital and an operation performed. It is understood that Mr. Campbell had sustained previous injuries to hia head through accident. He was a single man, and a native of Scotland.
