The Now Zealand Rugby League Council met last evening, "dr. !>. W. McLean presiding. A reply to a letter sent to the wueensl&zul .Leagu© was received, approving of the suggestion for a conference between New South Wales, Queensland, and New Zealand,, to be held at Auckland, but Bug-' getting it should be held next season. A query from the Ponsonby Club led to a discussion oonceming the trophy which is to replace the Thicker Shield. It was decided to call the new trophy the New ZeaRugby League Championship Club Shield. The new rules! which had been suggested for the Thicker Shield competition were adopted for the new trophy. It vaa decided that challenging clubs must forward their challenges within 14 days after the conclusion of theia respective club championships, tho New Zealand League Council to allocate the dates uf the matches:- ': So far as this year's challenge matches Were concerned, .it was agreed that thej should be played m order of receipt. j '
