FETTERS OF STATE CONTROL. INFLATED PUBLIC BORROWING. Australian and N.Z. Cable Association. (Reed- 10.50 p.m.) SYDNEY, July 28. The chairman of the Chamber of Commerce in a speech at the annual meeting, 'eferred to the gravity of the situation arising out of inflated public borrowing. Ho said that State control of industry was not contracting as speedily as the best wishers of the prosperity of Ihe country could desire. He urged the need for better mail and cable communication, and condemned the delay of the authorities in not pushing forward with the matter or allowing private companies to establish wireless communication. Sir Joseph Cook, Federal Treasurer and Acting-Prime Minister, referring to the financial position, said that he hoped that the Government might not have to impose farther taxation, but there were certain things which had to be done.
