POSSIBILITY OF INCREASE.
A GOOD OFFER FOR CHEESE
[BY TELEGRAPH—PRESS ASSOCIATION. ] WELLINGTON. Thursday. It was stated to-day by a weQ-infonned business man intimately connected with the dairying industry that lid a lb., f.o.b. New Zealand ports, was hieing offered to factories for cheese in bulk. This offer covers the whole of next season's output. The • returns for butter on this basis would be about 2s alb f.o.b. Storekeepers would then pay about 2s 2d for butter in pats, against 2s Id now being paid, and the price to consumers in the I)ominion would have to increase to at least 2s 4d, since the Government will not continue paying a subsidy after Augußt.
