LOSSES ESTIMATED AT 5000. OTHER FORCES IN PERIL. A. and N.Z. MADRID, July 26. A well-informed source <2stimates the Spanish losses at Melilla, in North-west Morocco, at 5000 killed, wounded, and taken prisoner. The Spanish forces at Sididris, on the coast, are in a critical position. An attempt to evacuate them by sea had to be stopped, the Moors firing and causing heavy losses.
