PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH.

ST. DAVID'S ANNUAL MEETING. The annual meeting of St. David's Church was held last evening, the Key. D. 0. Herron presiding over a large attendance. The annual report and accounts showed that the church was in a very healthy condition, and had made substantial progress during the year. The roll now stood at 422 communicant members. The contributions had been on a very generous scale, £4508 passing through the treasurer's Hands. The ordin-

ary collections reached a-record total of £1162, an increase of £162 over last year, while £461 -was contributed for home mission extension work, £991 for missions, and £1266 toward the building fund. This fund, inaugurated last now stood at £5586 17s 4d, and promises redeemable -within the next four years would bring the amount up to £7664. It was hoped a start would be made with building operations as soon as conditions were more settled. Two outstanding events in the year's work were the sending out of Miss Nellie Raven as St. David's own missionary to India, and the appointment of Sister Constance to work in the more thickly populated portions of the parish. A history of the church had been completed and was being published- The success of the Sunday-school was particularly gratifying, the scholars numbering 330, wnile the branch school recently started in the Newton district already had 40 children on the roll. Another scheme which had proved successful was the crecfte, by which volunteers from among the young ladies of \he congregation look after any infants brought to church, thus- enabling the mothers to attend the service. In place of the retiring members, Messrs. H. W. Elliffe, E Blythe, T. D. D. Holland, j! Wynne, and A. B- Doughty ■were elected to the board of managers. KNOX CHURCH AFFAIRS.
