TO-DAY'S FORECAST.

GOVERNMENT REPORT. The Government meteorologist reported last night as follows: —Present indica j tions are for strong easterly to northerly winds northwards of New Plymouth, and Napier, with variable strong winds, with south-easter lies, ruling elsewhere. Cloudy and unsettled conditions, with rain, areprobable generally, and heavy ram in the northernmost, districts. The barometer is unsteady, with a falling tendency. MR. WIUGGE'S FORECAST. The following weather forecast was supplied to us by .Mr. Clement L. Wragge at 17.30 p.m. yesterday:—Despite the fair ; weather around Auckland, it can only be stated that the atrrfosphere i 3 in "a very unsettled condition, especially over North Auckland, chiefly under the "operation of the disturbed area 'known as Dsmoned. The barometric figures decidedly show that, considerable rain is not far olf. Winds chiefly from between south-south-west and south-east, veering toward north-east.
