STRANDED EMIGRANTS.

COMPENSATION BY PERU. ' ' LONDON, July 14. In the House of Commons at question time the Under-Secretary for the Colonies, ' Mr. E. L. Wood, stated that £2000, which had been promised by the Peruvian Government, had been received, and would be distributed among the claim- , ants.
