TAMAKI WEST ROAD BOARD.

The last meeting of the Tamaki West Road Board was attended by Messrs. E. it. Pilkington (chairman), J. W. Andrew, L. J. Keys, J. C. Masefield, and W. H. Reynolds. The St. John's College trustees advised that the, trustees could not see their way to sell the 51 acres at Point England, but would lease that area to the board for 10 years. The board decided that it could net entertain the offer, but would be prepared to consider taking a Glasgow lease. The, Melanesian Mission Trust Board notified that it oou'd not allow 11 acres on Mission Bay Beach to be acquired for a. public reserve, but would try to meet the board in every possible way when cutting up the property in regard to reserves to be set aside. The president of the St. Heliers-Koh!-marama Progress League wrote stating that the Beautifying Committee intended to proceed with the plantir-e of trees on the reserve and on the cliffs, but the question of planting on the foreshore had been deferred until the permanent work had been carried out. Messrs. Keys. Masefield and Reynolds were appointed to co-operate with trie committee.
