CLAIM FOR £500 DAMAGES.
DISPUTE OVER AN ENGINE.' An action for £500 damages was opened in the Supreme Court yesterday before Mr. Justice Salmond. The plaintiff was the Zeehan Consolidated, Ltd., a mining company, of Puhoi, Thames (Mr. Prendergast), and the defendant Fabian Sebastian Petrie, engineer, Auckland (Mr. West). The dispute was the outcome of the purchase by the plaintiff from the defendant of an engine for £1100. The amount claimed represents £325 for repairs to the engine; £50, the cost of preparing a site for the engine; and £125, damages alleged to have been i sustained through 'the delay in the supply I and erection of the engine.
