POULTRY INDUSTRY.
QUESTION OF CONTROL. [BY TELEGEATH. —OWN COEBESrONDE-VT.] CHRISTCHtJRCH. Monday
At a meeting held on Saturday, at which it was it was decided to form a co-opera-tive company to control the poultry industry, it was stated the industry was in danger of over-production and cf prices falling below a payable figure. Given proper organisation and management, a pouitrymen's co-operative company would be one of the strongest co-operative concerns in the Dominion. One speaker said the business had got beyond egg farmers and the egg circle, and was practically unmanageable- If the poultrymen did not undertake control of the industry, capitalists would do so.
