DISTRESS IN LONDON.
600 MARCH TO WORKHOUSE. Keuter. LONDON. July 24. There was a remarkable procession at Wandsworth to-day. Six hundred men, women, and children, with infants in arms and perambulators, marched to the workhouse and demanded admission, which was refused, except in the case of four women and a number of children whose husbands and fathers had been previously admitted. The police dispersed the others. An official stated that the workhouse accommodation was 900, but this had already been exceeded.
