RUN OF NEARLY FIVE YEARS.
2238 PERFORMANCES GIVEN. A. and N.Z. LONDON, July 24.
The phenomenal London run of " Chu Chin Chow " ended last night after 2238 performances. His Majesty's Theatre, where " Chu Chin Chow " has been running since August 31, 1916, passes into the hands of the new theatrical firm of Grossmith and Malone,, which has very extensive interests in West End and provincial theatres. Mr. Malone recently joined the firm in place of Mr. Laurillard. Mr. Oscar Asche reopens the theatre in the autumn with " Mecca,*' a new spectacular production which has already been staged in New York.
