SERIOUS INDIAN RIOT.
FATAL OUTBREAK AT ALIGARH TROOPS RESTORE ORDER. Australian and N.Z. Cable Association. (Reed. 12.10 &.m.) DELHI, July 7. Serious rioting occurred at. Aligarh, in the North-West Provinces, 55 miles north of Agra. The trouble arose out of the conviction of a political prisoner. A mob attacked a police guard and burned the post office and other buildings. Several persons were killed. Military forces were summoned from Agra and quelled the outbreak. A later report states that Aligarh is now quiet. Military pickets control the town. All meetings have been prohibited and 25 arrests have been made.
