DEPOSITS MORATORIUM.
EXTENSION PROPOSED. PLAN OF GRADUAL RELEASE. LEGISLATION NEXT SESSION. [BY TELEGRAPH.—PRESS ASSOCIATION-] WELLINGTON. Thursday. The moratorium over moneys placed on deposit with local authorities and comi panies expires on December 31. Proj vision -was made for deposit-ore in certain | circumstances to apply to the Supreme Court for repayment in part or as a | whole, bet as the law stands, all dej posits affected by the moratorium will | have to bo repaid after December 31. j However, the law will not be allowed to i remain as it is. From Sir Francis Bell, as Attorney-General, it was learned today that a Bill will be drafted in due course to meet the position that might arise after December 31. The measure, will provide for the gradual release of deposits. It is not proposed to lift the moratorium all at once, so far as deposits are concerned, but provision will be made for their piogressive repayment.
