DELAYS TO SHIPPING.
ABSENCE OF SEAMEN. UNION FINES MEMBERS. [BY TELEQBAPH. —PBESS ASSOCIATION-] WELLINGTON, ThursdayAt this week's meeting of the Seamen's Union a resolution was adopted fining three members the sum of £2 5s each for delaying the Marama for Papeete on May 6. Another member was fined £12 3s by the union for delaying the Kakapo for Bluff on June 4. The amount includes the cost entailed by the Simday sailing. The Union Company had asked the union to forego the crew's extra pav for the Sunday departure, which the union declined to do.
Absence from the ships occasioned the delay in both Distances.
