SHOOTING AFFRAY.
STEWARD WOUNDS SEAMAN. SEQUEL TO A QUARREL. [BT XSLEGKAPH.—PKBSS ASSOCXATIDS.} TIMAEU. Saturday. A shooting affray occurred last night on the wharf at Timaru. William Jones, steward of the steamer Trevosa, fired shots at John Stapleton, a seaman, and wounded him on the thumb. The revolver misfired at the third shot. The incident was the sequel to a quarrel at Newcastle. Jones was charged this morning with having inflicted grievous bodily harm oa Stapleton, and was remanded till Wednesday.
