The Australian cricketers leave for South Africa by the Balmoral Castle on September 30. At , the instance of Mr. Sydney Smith, manager, a meeting of the Imperial cricket conference will be held at Ijord's on June 6. Mr. Smith has compiled a list of matters for discussion, including the eight-ball over,, rolling "the wicket for an extra 10 minutes in the event of rain, dates of future visits to and from England, and the arrangement of the programme of future tours.
Regarding the last-named subject, Australia desires that arrangements be made by a" contral body like the Australian Board of Control. Australia will press that all county fixtures be subservient to the international contests, that the hours of play in all county games be from noon to six, and will raise the question of the test matches being played to a conclusion in England.
