Fowler, of the Government Audit Department, Wellington, is at the Central Hotel. , Mr. J. L. R. Bloomfield and Mr. G. R. Bloomfield returned from Gisborne by the Maxaroa yesterday; Mr. J. H. Cunningham, of Christchurch, and Mr. P. J. Ryan, of Napier, are at the Grand Hotel. Mr. Vernon H. Reed, M-P. for Bay of Islands, was & t passenger for the South by the mid-day express on Saturday. Mr. Norman A. Brodrick has been appointed by the Governor-General manager of the Invercargill Savings BankMr. W. Goodfellow, managing director of the New Zealand Dairy Co., Ltd., will leave for England on, or !about June 13. Captain C. McDonald, marine superintendent for the Union Steam Ship Co., returned to Wellington by the mid-dsy express on Saturday. Mr. R. McCallum, M.P. for Wairau, and Mr. G. Witty, M.P. for Jlieearton, whoshavo been visiting Mr. H. Poland, M.P. at Paeroa, will arrive in Auckland to-day. Professor J. Macmillan Brown will leave Christcburch on June 24 on a visit to Tonga, Samoa and Fiji, where he will continue his studies of the languages of the Polynesian peoples. Judge Ayson, of the Native Land Court, arrived in Auckland on' Saturday from Rotorua, en route for Barotonga, where ho is to stay for three months. Prior to hia departure from Rotorua, be was „| entertained by members of the local Bar, the staff of the Native Land Court, and , the WaiarUci Land Board. Judge Aysoa, ?g Y?r£ll leave by the Tahiti for Barotonga about the end of the month.
