FINANCE FOR DRAINAGE.

The -«Thames Borough Council at a special meeting yesterday received a communication from the State Advances' Office to the effect that the application made by the borough for a loan of £98,000 for drainage had been provisionally approved by the board, the loan to be for 36i years, beayinsr interest a-t 4£ per cent, per annum.
