In retaliation for this action the strikers have ordered towboat crews not to handle any ships, foreign or American. At New Orleans, marine strikers violently attacked a group of strike-breakers, two of the latter and one policeman being wounded. The police, using clubs and revolvers, charged the attackers, arresting 138.
