SECONDARY SCHOOLS' UNION. „ fhe annual meeting of the Secondary schools Rugby Union was held on Tuesday at the Seddon Memorial Technical College. Mr. H. T. Revell presided, and delegates from tne four schools associated were preseP'- report showed that •secondary school football was flourishing, 22 teams iaking the field in 1920. The senior grade again resulted in a tie between King's College and Grammar School A. the second grade being won by Grammar School A. the third by Grammar School xV, and the fourtn by Sacred Heart College. Hearty votes of thanks were passed to the Auckland Rugby union and the Referees' Association. It was decided to hand over the balance of subscriptions in hand to the latter body. Mr. Inder. Technical College, was appointed honorary secretary The appointment of a delegate to the Auckland Rugby Union was held over. The following motions were unanirnously carried:—"That the Referees' Association be asked not to put on secondary schools' matches before 2 p.m.. as teams, especially from boarding schools, cannot take the field before then; that this union views with concern the reinstatement of players who. by the laws of Rugby football, are professional players." UNDER LEAGUE RULES. MANAGEMENT COMMITTEE. The Management Committee of the Auckland Rugby Football League met last evening, the chairman, Mr. J. Car.aw, presiding. 11l regard to the suggestion by the Wellington League that annual home and home matches be arranged between the Auckland and Wellington League representatives, the New Zealand League Council wrotei recommending the Auckland League to endeavour to carry out the suggestion. It was decided to fix a suitable date for the current season's game with Wellington later in the season. The arrangements for treating casualty cases at matchts during the season were the subject of a communication from the St! John Ambulance Brigade. It was suggested that the league, in conjunction with the brigade, should apply to the City Council to have provided at the Domain a clean casualty room, supplied with hot water and other requirements. It was decided to request the brigade to ask the City Council to provide the room as suggested. A vote of thanks to the brigade for its services was passed unanimously. An application from the Auckland FootDall Association for the use of a ground on the Domain on Saturday was declined. It was etattd that fixtures had already been made for the grounds and that no other grounds were available. Arrangements were made for a Ponsonby Club torn to visit Cambridge and play a match against the local representatives on Saturday. A communication was received from the actingtown clerk, stating that the league had been allotted, for the present season, two grounds on the Domain, one on Victoria Park, and one at. Grey Lynn Park. It was decided to make inquiry from the City Council regarding fhe provision o£ dressing accommodation at Grey Lynn ParkApplications for transfer by players were aproved as follows:—A. E. Ivil, Newton to Fire Brigade: J. Adlam. City to Fire Brigade: W. H. Bundle. North Shore to Newton. A number of new players were registered by various clubs, the list submitted by the City Club including the name of H- Tancred. an ex-Wellington forward, who subsequently p!>ayed for the Western Suburbs Club, Sydney. It was decided to commence the cup competitions in the junior grades on May 7.

Notification was received from the North Shore Club that only two grounds would be availi able this season. The Metropolitan Club | was granted registration. As affiliations in lower divisions were not complete, all clubs in either second or boys' divisions are to ba notified that to enter for the season's competitions it is necessary to affiliate and register on or before Tuesday, May 3, when entries will close and the draw will be made. Mr. Ritchie reported that a Referees' Association would be formed. The first meeting would be held ! next Tuesday evening. There not being sufficient third grade entries to make an interesting competition, it was decided that no competition be held and that teams entered bo transferred to the second division. i It was decided to call the attention of those I controlling the boys' division to the fact that Rule 28, referring to the playing of unregistered boys in the championship, will be strictly enforced. All competitions will be commenced on Saturday, May 7. As Everton were not represented it was deIcided to defer the matter of club colours until next meeting.
