HOCKEY.

The executive of the Auckland Hockey Association met in 1 lie Sports Club, when the following appointments were made:— Chairman, Mr. L. C. Kent; grounds, Mr. L. C. Kent; country hockey, Ml. H. B. Speight; entertainment. Mr. L. Ellison; referees' appointments. Mr. R. E.'Fawcett; North Shore ground, Mr. A. Rankin; school hockey, Mr. R. England; pavilion, Mr. Cooper. The following new clubs were granted affiliation:—Papakura Valley, North Shore Methodist. Y.M.C.A., North Shore Congregational and Thames High School Old Boys. Entries for tho various grade championships closo with the secretary, Mr. Pleyel, on Saturday. The championship matches will start on Saturday, May 7. A lengthy discussion took place upon the proposed alterations to the Shield rules, but further consideration was adjourned. It was decided, owing to the increased ground rental, to increase the clubs' ground fees for the season.

The following are the appointments for the Remuera hockey grounds on Saturday:—No. 4 ground. Ladies, 1.45 p.m. onward: No. 5, Mount. Eden, 1.4S p.m. onward; No. 6, Gordon 1.45 p.m. to 2.45 p.m.. University 2.45 p.m. onward; No. 7. Epiphany 1.45 p.m. to 2.45 p.m.. Somerville 2.45 p.m. onward; No. 8, Wesley College 1.45 p.m. to 2.45 p.m.. St. Luke's.'2.4s p.m. onward; No 9. Y.M.C.A. and Thames High School Old Boys 1.45 p.m. to 2.45 p.m., Training College 2.45 p.m to 3.45 p.m., Areta and Edendale 3.45 p.m. to 4.45 p.m.
