South Australia cricket match was continued to-day in dull weather, before a handful of spectators. The wicket was in good condition. With five wickets down for 540 runs' the Englishmen resumed their first innings, Douglas (56) and Woolley (27) returning to the crease. Douglas batted steadily, and had reached 72 when he lost Woolley, who returned a fast ball to Richardson, and wag adroitly caught by the bowler for 36. Woolley batted for 50 minutes and hit three fours and one six- Douglas had a narrow escape when 84, off his pads. Douglas brought the score up to 600 after seven hours' batting by the Englishmen, and he reached his first century of the tour after an innings of 125 minutes. Wilson was run out for 11. Parkin was missed when 8. He then drove Loveridge for four, but the next ball he returned to the bowler and was caught. Dolphin ! suffered a similar fate to Parkin off Loveridge's first ball. Howell had reached 5 when he was bowled by Loveridge, the English innings thus closing for 627. Douglas was 106 not out. He had been batting for three hours, and hit 11 fours. The South Australians made a disastrous start in their second innings. Smith, when eight, missed Howell and the ball hit the wicket off his pads. Richardson, when 19, stepped out to a ball from Fender, missed it, and was stumped by Dolphin. At the tea adjournment South Australia's score was 132 for two wickets, Harris 62, Rundell 40. Wilson did not resume after tea as he had injured the muscles of his back. Harris and Rundell maintained a superb partnership until Harris, when 84, and after 152 ' minutes' play, was bowled by Fender. Jose was only two when he was given out leg before.
