The Athenic is expected to leave Wellington for Auckland on Thursday to complete the discharge of her cargo from London. She will afterwards load for the United Kingdom. i The Port Curtis is reported to be load- \ ing at New York for Auckland, Wellington, j Lyttelton, Dunedin, and Australian ports. , She is expected to leave the American port I at the end of March. The Maimoa is expected to sail for Whakatane and Wellington on Thursday, to continue loading for the United Kingdom. The Whakatano left Panama on March 9 for Suva and Auckland. She has general cargo from London for Suva, and coal from Newport News for Auckland. She is duo at Auckland about April 6. ' The barquentine Laura, laden with 515 tons oi coal from Newcastle for Auckland, was reported outside Tiri last evening. She should make port this morning. The Stella arrived from Wellington with general cargo yesterday afternoon, and anchored in the stream. On discharge of her cargo she will load scrap iron for Dunedin. The Maheno went into dock yesterday morning for cleaning and painting: She will come out again this morning, and will berth at the Hobson Wharf. . She is to sail for Sydney at 4 p.m. to-morrow. The Port Macquarrio, en route from London via ports, is expected to leave Sydney at an early date for Auckland. She has 1500 tons of general cargo to discharge at this port. The Whangape is to load coal at Newcastle for Auckland, instead of the Kauri, aa previously arranged. The former vessel, j which has just completed &n extensile overhaul, will take up an anchorage in the stream this morning and will sail for Newcastle later in the week. Captain R. Kennedy, formerly master of the barque Raupo, left Wellington for Newcastle last week to take command of the fourmasted barque Alice A. Leigh, which w&s I purchased recently by Mr. G. H. Scales, of Wellington. The barque will load coal at Newcastle for Wellington, and on discharge will probably load wool in the Dominion for the United Kingdom. The Alice A. Leigh is a steel vessel of 2999 tons register, and was built in 1889. The Kanna has been fixed to load at Lyttelton for Auckland. The Kaiwarra left Makatea Island on March) 11 with a. cargo of rock phosphates for Auckland. The Tarawera is to leave Dunedin to-day for Timaru to load general cargo for Auckland. The three-masted schooner War Lord arrived from Gisborne yesterday evening with a cargo of maize, etc. She anchored in the stream. THE NAVUA. The Ntvna arrived at Suva from Samoa, yesterday. Bhe is to leave Suva at noon to-morrow for Auckland with passengers) and a cargo of fruit. She is due on Sunday night or early on Monday morning. THE BARQUENTINE RETRIEVER. The barquentine Retriever, which was picked up by the Talune in May last in a dismasted condition, and towed into Papeete, ib now being towed to Auckland bv the Kaiwarra which left Papeete last Sunday Captain E. F. Watson, of the Union Company s service, is in command of the Retriever. The Kaiwarra should arrive toward the end of next week. At Auckland the barquentine is to be converted into a coal hulk.
