THE RANGIRIRI REGATTA. I The Rangiriri regatta -was held on Saturday under ideal conditions. The races re- . suited as follows :— Light-weight Maidens.—St. George's. 1 ; West End. 2; Auckland. 3. "Won by three lengths. Heavy Maidens.-—Waitemata 1; St. , George's, 2; West End. 3. The winners took the lead from the start, and won by three lengths. j Junior Fuurs (open).—West End. 1; St.. Gecrge'e, 2; Hamilton, 3. After passing , under the bridge St. George's made a 1 desperate and closed to within a fewfeet of West End. Bright (West End), however, called on his crew, and a splendid effort gave them a victory by one and a-half lengths. Youths' Fours.—Weßt End, 1 ; Hamilton. 2. A great race resulted in West End • winning by a foot. Sculling Handicap.—D. Hadfield (Waitemata). scr.. 1; St. Clair (Hamilton). 2. W. Stevenson (Auckland) finished second, but was disqualified for cutting inside a mark flag. The other starter, Molesworth (Hamilton),. struck a mark flag: with his rigger and , capsized. He had little difficulty, however, in walking into th© shallow water and righting! his boat. i AUCKLAND CHAMPIONSHIPS. The Auckland Rowing Association's ; championships will be decided over a har- ; bour course on Saturday.
