POLICE COURT NEWS.
SEVERAL MINOR OFFENCES. A sitting of the Police Court was held yesterday before Messrs. W. Duncan, Forbes Eadie and J. F. Ellisdon, J.P.'s. For having used obscene language Henry Hawkes was fined £5 with costs £1 9s, in default one month's hard labour. Henry Edward Lock, who admitted having committed mischief by breaking three panes of glass, valued at 10s, was fined 10s, and ordered to pay the damage, 10s, with costs 19s. A fine of £1 was imposed on Bentley Blake Palmer, who admitted having committed a breach of the Military Service Act. He had enrolled himself as a married man, whereas he was single. _ The two girls, aged 19 and 14 respectively; who are charged with arson in connection with a fire at the Door of Hope on February 13, were, again remanded for a week.
