DOMESTIC SCIENCE COURSE.

LADIES' COMMITTEE APPOINTED. The opinion that the two lady members of the Education Board, Mrs. Baume and Mrs. Ferner, would take a keen interest in the domestic science course given to the women students of the Auckland Training College, -was made yesterday by the chairman of the board, Mr. E. O. Banks. He advocated the formation of a cononhlee composed of Mrs. Baunfe Mrs. Ferner, and the oreaniser of domestic science, Miss Juniper, to inquire into the adequacy of the course.

Mrs. Baume said the instruction was given at the Technical College, and lie lady jnembers of :he board would not dare to interfere. Mr. J S Bond replied that as a member of the board of directors of the Technical College, he would welcome advice, because the men on the board did not realise the full value of the science so greatlv as did the ladies. J Mr E C. Purdie, secretary to the board, suggested that the ladies* committee could obtain information from the principal of the Training College Mr H G. Cousins, nnd then approach the director of the Technical College, Mr G George, for permission to observe the methods of training the students.
