HOMESTEAD BURNED.
[BT TELE6EAPH. —OWN CQRaESPONBEKT.] OFOTJEX Wednesday. Th« homestead of Mr. George Hawkins, at Paerata Ridge, six miles from Opotiki, was destroyed by fire at midnight. Mrs. Hawkins was awakened by a noise and found the kitchen was in flames. Most of the contents of the house were lost. The property was insured in the State. Fire Office.
