STRONG FEELING AROUSED. A- «Ed N.Z. MELBOURNE, Feb. 2. \ The following team has been selected to play for Victoria in the cricket match ; against the Englishmen, which begins on Friday: —E. Mayne (captain), J. Ryder ' (vice-captain), J. Keating, I. McDonald, | J. Ellis, H. Sandford, R. Park, O. Grim- I raett, W. Ponsford, A. Hartkof, L. Fer- j guson, and G. Davies twelfth man. ■ W. W. Armstrong has been omitted ' from the team, and no explanation has I been given, but it is understood that it is because he declined to play for his State against New South Wales in the recent: Sheffield Shield match. ' The Victorian selectors have declined ; to make any statement. One, however, Baid that their report on the subject in . due course would be forwarded to the Victorian Cncket Association. Great in- \ dignation is expressed by the Victorian eleven. Armstrong was greeted by a large crowd on his arrival from Sydney, where he has been resting since the last test match.
