PROHIBITIONISTS' PROTEST. A. and N.Z. SYDNEY. Feb. 2. A prohibition "rally" at the SydneyTown Hall passed a resolution of em- ; phatic protest against the Government postponing the taking of a referendum on the prohibition question. The resoluj tion declared that the action of the Government was unconstitutional, undemocratic, and an example of lawlessI ness which was to be strongly condemned. ' A feature of the meeting was the reading I by the chairman of a letter from the ex- ! Premier of New South Wales, Mr. W. A. ! Holman, wishing the meeting success, supporting the resolution, and condercmj ing the Government for having flouted the | law.
