BRIDEGROOM AGED 7g. THIRD MATRIMONIAL . VENTURE. Publicity was given in Edinburgh recently to th© announcement of a romantic engagement between a Steottish pes? and an Edinburgh shop assistant. Tha lady (Miss Margaret Todd) was until recently an assistant in a hairdresser's establishment in Princeg Street, and is 40 years of age, with white hair which gives her & distinguished appearance. She wCI be the third wife of Viscount Melville, of Melville Castle, Lasswade, .Midlothian, who is in his 78th year. The wedding is expected to take place shortly. Viscount Melville refused to be interviewed, but Miss Todd, seen at her home, admitted the. engagement, but defined to make any statement. Viscount Melville, it is stated, k sa customer at the Princes Street estahHsfnaeaf in which the lady acted as assistant. The viscount succeeded his.brother, the fifth viscount, m 1904, retiring from the Consular Service two years later. His first appointment was at Santos, in .Brazil, and his wife was a daughter of William Scully, Rio do Janeiro. Pour sons were born of the marriage, and one of them, the Hon. Kenneth Robert Dundas, R.N.V.R., was killed in action at the Dardanelles in ISIS. A year after the death of his first wife in 1890, Viscount Melville married Mary, daughter of Dr. George Hamilton, Falkirk, by whom he had two daughters. Viscount Melville is a descendant of Viscount Melville who held various positions under Pitt, and was known as the "Uncrowned King, of Scotland." The family seat is a massive building standing some miles to the south of .Edinburgh. It occupies the site of the traditional home of David Rizzio. favourite of Mary Queen of Scots, and is known through its association with a celebrated Scottish song, "Willie's gane to Melville Castle."'
