COST-OF-LIVING BONUS.

CHRISTCHURCH TRAMWAYMEN. [BT TELEGRAPH.—PRESS ASSOCIATION.] CHRISTCHURCH, Thursday. It is understood that the Christchurch Tramway Board will continue paying the 9s cost-of-living bonus to its emplovees until January 3. After that date, in" accordance with the Arbitration Court's decision, the bonus will be reduced to 3s per week, but no deduction will be made in respect of the 6s per week which ha« been overpaid. At the same time, the board's special long-service bonus, which was withdrawn as a result of some dispute with the Tramway Employees' Union, will be reinstated as from the beginning of the new year. While the men object to a reduction in the Court's last bonus, they admit the board is treating them well in this respect.
