CRIPPLES IN A FIRE.

EXCITING RESCUE SCENES. A. and N.Z. LONDON, Dec. 21. Exciting rescues from a burning Church Army Hostel at Marylebone were made at six o'clock this morning. The flames spread rapidly and cut off 33 war cripples, who had been sleeping in the upper rooms. The men appeared in the windows in 'Leir night clothes shouting for help. Two jumped, and were desperately injured before the fire escapes arrived and rescued the rest.
