\ CONSIDERATION BY CABINET. \ DISCONTENT AT ADDINGTON. [BY TEEEGKAPH. —PBESS ASSOCIATION.] CHBISTCHURCH, Wednesday. The president of the National Executive of the Amalgamated Society of RailwayServants, -Mr. Hampton, has returned to Christchurch after attending an interview between the executive and the Prime Minister in Wellington in regard to the bonus. He stated that Mr. Massey promised to reply to the deputation after he had consulted the Cabinet. A meeting of Addington workshop employees passed the following resolution: "This mass meeting is strongly of opinion that the time has arrived for our execu- , tive to demand an increase of wages, so as bring our earnings into line with pre-war rates. We cannot fail to notice the vast difference in increases of salaries of highpaid officials, such as judges, they receiving no less than £10 per week "increase, i whereas the wage-earner is granted the ; princely sum of 3s. Failing a satisfactory ! reply*' from the Government within a reasonable period the executive is requested to take a ballot of members with a view to drastic action being taken in conjunction with other federated unions."
