TEACHERS' CLASSIFICATION.

[BT TELEGRAPH.—PRESS ASSOCIATION'.] WELLINGTON. Wednesday. Under the regulations recently issued appeals by secondary school teachers against their classification as gazetted on December 9 should be lodged in Wellington on January 8. Owing, however, to a mishap in connection with the despatch of copies of the classification list, many teachers did not receive notification before the schools broke up for the holidavs and might therefore not be in a position to lodge an appeal in the middle of the school hohdavs. Under th e circumstances the Minister for Education has announced that appeals from secondary school teachers will be received to and including February 12. Teachers will receive individual notifications of this extension of time on or beiore the date of the* reopening of the schools in the first week in February.
