DAVIS CUP CHALLENGE
NO PRACTICE ON SATURDAY. DISPLAY FOR THE SCHOOLS. PLAY OX THE MATCH COURT. The Davis Cup teams were unable tc continue practice on Saturday owing to the rain. They will practice to-day. the Americans at Parnell, and the Australasian team at Onehunga. The demonstra tion for the pupils of secondary schools, will be given by the American players at Eden and Epsom, to-morrow afternoon. The general public will not be admitted, as it is anticipated that all the available accommodation will be required for the pupils and the teachers in charge of them. The Davis Cup Committee has received notification from Mr. F. S. Wilding, of Christchuxch, father of the late Anthony Wilding, that neither he, nor Mrs. Wilding can be present at the match. They had been invited to attend as the guests of the committee, and had accepted the invitation, but Mr. Wilding has now intimated that owing to unforseen circumstances, they cannot be present. Practice on the special court on the Domain, on which the match is no be played, will probably be permitted some 'day this week. The turf, which was specially procured from New Lynn for the purpose, has taken well, and *he court is now in fine condition.
