BEEKEEPING FOR SOLDIERS.
One of the most enthusiastic classes at the Trentham military hospital is the " bee-keeping class." Thf men nave for their tutor the Rev. A. Hardy, chaplain to the forces, who is an expert in bee culture, and several times each week a. visit is made to Mr. W. ri. P. Berber's apiary at Upper Hutt for practical demonstrations. The students are taught bow to eradicate foul-brood from affected hives, also the scientific methods of bee-farming generally. One es-soldier 'who went through the course has secured land at Dannevirke, and possesses 203 colonies p&' bees.
