LIFTED IN BLACK SEA.
NEGOTIATIONS FOR TRADE. PRICE OF GOLD IX DISPUTE. Sy Telegraph —Press Association—Copyright. I Received 12.30 a.m.) A. and N.Z. LONDON..Dec. 11. Sir R. S. Home, President of the Board of Trade, and Krassin, the Soviet Government's trade envoy in London, are continuing negotiations. It is believed that progress is being made, but a difference Lis arisen regarding the price to be paid for Russian gold sent to England. Russia is claiming the murket price, but it is pointed out that the Bank of England recently paid the statutory price for a Continental shipment. Protests have been made against treating Russia preferentially. A message from Constantinople states that the British naval base have authorised merchantmen to proceed to Bolshevik Russian ports in the Black Sea. Two vessels are already bound f°r Odessa.
