(Reoeived 8.15 p.m.) A. and X.Z. LONDON. Dec. 9 The correspondent of the Daily Express at \ ienna states tlsst Austria's economic situation has become hopeless. Funds are exhausted, and the Government is unable to purchase food abroad. The country cannot carry on for more than two months. The Chancellor. Herr Mayer, has called a meeting of" foreign representa* tives and members of the rations Commission for to-morrow. He will explain the situation and appeal to them to make a last effort to save the country. He says that if the Powers cannot help the Government will resign and request the Reparations Commission to administer the country.
