THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL.
ARRIVAL IN AUCKLAND TO-D.U. The Governor-General, Lord Jellicoe, Lady Jellicoe, and their family and staff, are due to arrive in Auckland by special train at eight -o'clock this morning. Their Excellencies will go into residence at Government House for about sis months, during which time their residence in Welling, tea will bo altered and renovated. The renovations to the Auckland residents ara , complete, and- tho grounds are in excellent order, presenting a picturesque appearand. At. "At Home" to Lady Jellicoe is to bo given by the Mayoress, Mrs, J. H. Gunson, at the Town Hall next Friday. Invitations to the gathering are now being issued, and a large attendance is expected. ... His ; Excellency's 14ft. , wiling boat it \ practically complete, and will be launched within the next few davs.
