. Mr, and Mrs. R. Allan, of Chrlstchurch, are at the Grand Hotel. ; t -£ Sir Arthur Conan_ Doyle left for Wellington by last evening express. Mr. H. Buckleton, general manager of tho Bank of New Zealand, who has been on a visit to Australia, has returned to Wellington. Mr, J. E. L.' Cull, designing engineer in the Public Works Department, has left fo» England to transact business regarding machinery required by the department,- . principally .in connection with the electrification of Otira Tunnel. Monsignor M. L. Liston, who wag appointed Roman Catholic Coadjutor-Bishop of Auckland in April last, and Monsignor J. White, who waa appointed Bishop of Dunedin, will bo consecrated at Dunedin on Sunday. Bishop Clear/ left Auckland last evening to attend the ceremony. On his return ha will be accompanied by Bishop Liston s who will immediately take up his duties in Auckland. N
