HYGIENIC PROCESSES. < A special ' hygienic process of brewing and bottling i has l;een installed in the cordial manufacturing factory of Messrs. Sharpe Brothers in Millais Street,' off Richmond Road, Grey Lynn. The procad' ensures perfect cleanliness 'in _ the manufacturing and bottling operations, and at the same time contributes in no small ; degree . to the : .efficiency of the industry. ; In : the. twttling operations the jam and all containers are thoroughly sterilised by injecting hot water and subr sequently etcam into them under: pressure. 1 By the employment of pipes, the jars are charged with the requisite syrup, and then : carbonised without- handling ; the liquids. A large variety of beverages are ' manufactured in this local' factory, in* 1 eluding lemonades, ginger, beer, hop beer, 1 cordials, ami pure malt vinegar, _ ; Both ■ brewing and carbonisinct are carried out 1 on the premises, the essences being imported from the best houses.' The Auckland factory is at present being managed by Mr. G. T. Puddle, recently proprietor of ;jiMessrs. Sharpe Brothers' establishment in Wellington. : Mr. Puddle has bought out. 1 the sole interest of s Sharpe Brothers, Auckland, a business which was latterly, carried on by J.; C. Tietjens. 1 Christmas" orders Eire coming in rapidly, ; and. early application^ will be necessary to ensure orders being delivered in- time for i the festive season. The proprietor, , after beins subjected to much provocation, has;decided to take legal action against persons detaining the firm's jars after the specified time. .. : '•»
