In consequence of this advice all past negotiations were cancelled, and it w=a decided to call for competitive designs of holdings suitable for'workers' cottages lor -erection oa endowment landsPreliminary steps were taken to inaugurate a definite movement for - the erection of a war memorial headstone. The town clerk brought forward a return showing that the value of building permits issued in the borough during the 12 months ended on November 30 was £53,980. ~_■; It was decided that- no action be taken in connection with the Piako County's protest against the closing of Te Waikato Sanatorium. - , Ten applications were received for the position of assistant borough foreman, the selection being referred to the Works Committee.
