-JGHT CRIMINAL LIST.

"[BT TELEGRAPH. —OWN COBBESI-ONDEKT]

HAMILTON. Tuesday.

The criminal sessions of the Hamilton Supreme Court were opened to-day before, the Chief Justice, Sir Robert Stout. In his charge to the grand jury His Honor congratulated the district upon the almost total absence of crime, there being only two cases. Unfortunately there was one charge of murder, but he understood the Crown had evidence that the accused was suffering, from . aelusional insanity. and therefore could not know what he was doing. That he fcided the man there could be no doubt, and the law was that if in committing an unlawful act he did not intend to kill, thei. he was guilty of murder. The question of his sanity was one for the common jury to decide, and the grand jury would have no difficulty in finding a true bill. George Graham pleaded not guilty to a charee of indecent assault. After evidence had been triven the accused was found guilty and sentenced to three years'imprisonment.
