POULTRY INDUSTRY.
ACTIVE POLICY URGED. DEPUTATION TO MINISTER. [BY TEtEOEATH. —PRESS ASSOCIATION.] WELLINGTON, Thursday. A deputation, comprising the executive of the New Zealand Poultry Association, waited on the Minister for Agriculture toGay, and asked for a more progressive policy regarding the poultry industry, which it was urged could he made worth £20,000,000 a year to the country. The number of instructors was quite inadequate, and their status should be raised to that of inspectors, as in other branches of the Agricultural Department. The Minister was urged to send the chief poultry expert and a prominent poultry dealer to the conference to be held in Holland in 1921. The question of the adulteration of poultry foods was also touched on. The Minister said he would take time to look into the representations made. Their requests would receive his very careful consideration, and a reply would be forwarded later.
