WISEMAN'S BUILDINGS.
WITHDRAWN AT £15,500.
The Queen Street premises owned and occupied by Messrs. J. W. Wiseman and Sons, who are removing to the opposite side of Queen Street, were offered for sale by public auction yesterday afternoon byRichard Arthur, Ltd.. in conjunction with Mr. Neville Newcomb, at Mr. Newcor.ib's rooms in ~ His Majesty's Arcade.
The building, comprising a large doublefronted shop, a well-lighted showroom upstairs, and a basement, has a . frontage of 23ft. 2in. to Queen Street',' next His Majesty's Arcade, with a depth of 89ft. on the north side and 86ft. .JOin on the south. The conditions of sale were £1000 on the fall of the hammer, and the balance by January 15, 1921. Bidding was started at £11,000, the amount of the mortgages. * There wag no fixed reserve, but the vendor stipulated that the lushest offer must be submitted to him. _ Competition was not - lively, and the bidding increased b v sums of £500 to £14.500, . after which it increased by smaller sums to £15,500,- at which figure the property was withdrawn. "
