DEATH OF A LABOURER.
METHYLATED SPIRITS DRINKER. An inquest into the cifcnmalanccs «tfroanding the death of Thomas Barrett, a married labourer, who died a & his residence, Sew North Road, New Lynn, on. Monday night, was held by. Mr. J. W. Pcynton, S.M. The evidence showed that deceased was addicted to drinking methylated spirits. One \fitness slated that local storekeepers would nnt supply deceased with the spirits. It was farther stated that lost prior to his death deceased had showed signs of drink. Hi was on 1 good terms with his wife. After medical evidence regarding the post-mortem examination had been given the coroner reI turned a verdict that deceased died from cardiac failure due to drinking methylated spirits.
